Dan MartinDan Martin’s franchise career goes all the way back to 1983 when he went to work for a Franchise Management & Structuring Firm in San Diego, California.  After a few years of working with some well known franchise organizations and franchise law firms, Dan decided to move to the next level and start his own Franchise Management & Marketing Firm that would ultimately result in a 200+ franchisor client base servicing 20,000+ franchisees in 23 countries.

As a true entrepreneur, Dan has always recognized opportunities and capitalized on his knowledge of franchising and his desire to expand his knowledge base, as well as his company’s client base.  While continuing his franchise management practice advising franchisors on how to maximize their operations, Dan took on the role of franchisee and invested in a national fast food franchise, ultimately graduating from two restaurants to managing 14 restaurants as an exclusive Area Developer in the Southern California market.  The investment paid off not only in terms of a sizable return, but also in terms of experience... experience from a franchisor and a franchisee point-of-view.

Combined with his franchise management and structuring experience, Dan’s experience as both franchisee and franchisor turned out to be absolutely invaluable.  A potent combination that ultimately led to the ability to recognize new opportunities, identify mission critical issues and develop powerful and practical strategies and solutions beneficial to virtually any type or size of franchise organization.

Nikki Gahr Sells

Nikki SellsNikki Sells joined Tasti D-Lite, in Franklin, Tennessee, in February 2008 as Vice President of Franchise Development, to roll out the franchising model for a 20-year old brand. From 2004-2008 she served as Vice President of Franchising for Express Personnel Services in Oklahoma City. Before joining the Express headquarters team, Sells and her husband, Robert, were the franchise owners of the Springfield, MO, Express Personnel Services franchise from 1990-2004, and she served as the regional developer for Missouri, Kansas and northern Arkansas from 1994 through 2003.

Awards and acknowledgements include Express Franchisee of the year in 1995, 1997 and 2001 and the Gordon Blair Heritage Award, Express’ highest award for franchisees, in 2002. Active in the International Franchise Association, Sells was a founding member of IFA's Franchisee Advisory Council and served as chairperson in 1997. She served on the IFA Board of Directors for 7 years and as chair of the Marketing/PR Committee for 6 years. Sells currently sits on the ICFE Board of Governors.  She received the IFA’s prestigious Bonny Levine Award in 2005. Sells holds a BSE from the University of Arkansas and received the Certified Franchise Executive designation in 2005.
